To kick start his working visit to Central Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (21/11) visited Malangjiwan Colomadu Market in Karanganyar regency.

Arriving at 08.05 Western Indonesian Time, the President distributed Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) and food staples to market traders.

President Jokowi also greeted the traders and inspected the prices of goods on the market. “This is the end of the year, we are checking the prices of goods on the market, because the conditions in each province are different,” he said in a statement.

According to the President, routine market inspections are conducted to find out the prices of goods on the market. Last Thursday (11/17), the President also visited a market in Bali and found price differences between provinces.

“Yesterday, I inspected in Bali, the prices were different from those in other provinces. We are now checking the prices in Central Java province,” said the President.

Based on the findings on the price increases such as in cooking oil and tempeh, the President stated that he would immediately find a solution to resolve the price increases in the market.

“Yes, those are our findings regarding the prices on the ground and later we will find the solution,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/MMB)
