President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (01/12) visited Kota Kasablanka mall to check economic activities following the revocation of public activity restriction (PPKM) policy.

President Jokowi arrived at the mall at around 19.20 Western Indonesian time. The President walked around the mall, browsed through showcased products, and bought some local products.

According to Ogi, a store attendant at the mall, the sales at the store where he works have gradually returned to normal after the PPKM policy was revoked.

“[The sales] have increased drastically. During PPKM, the number of visitors was very low, but now after PPKM has been revoked, it is starting to be very crowded, returning to normal,” he said while expressing hope that transactions at shopping centers can return to normal before the pandemic hit.

“I hope shopping centers can truly operate normally again because it really means a lot to us. Our welfare depends on the sales,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (DH/MMB)
