President Jokowi Visits Papua Youth Creative Hub

On the second day of working visit to Papua province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, visited Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH), in Jayapura city, Tuesday (21/03/2023). Students, holding red and white flag, lined up along the road to welcome the President.

Imbo Cone traditional dance was performed to welcome the arrival of President Jokowi at PYCH at 08.40 WIT (Eastern Indonesian Time). The President also received noken, a traditional Papua woven bag, and cassowary feather crown arrangement. Along the way to PYCH building, a number of Papuan youths sang a folk song “Yamko Rambe Yamko” and danced to greet President Jokowi.

Afterwards, the President inspected a number of booths that showcased local products made by Papuan youths joining the PYCH.

Feri Yaot, whose booth was visited by the President, expressed his happiness to see the President’s good response to his products. The President and several ministers also bought some t-shirts.

“The President was delighted and we were also happy to see him. Several ministers also shopped at my booth. Bapak President and entourage, also Bapak Prabowo bought some products”, Feri said. (Bureau for Press and Media of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GA/LW)
