Outside the official working visit schedule, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (02/01) visited several people’s houses in Ubud subdistrict, Gianyar regency, Bali province to greet the people and give them social assistance.

Wayan Brata, a local resident, said that he was surprised by the President’s visit.

“I was surprised to meet the President. This is the first time I’ve met a president in my life,” the 71-year-old man said.

Echoing the same sentiment, Ketut, another resident, also said that he did not expect that President Jokowi would visit his house, adding that he was happy to have a conversation directly with the President.

“I was happy that I was in tears. I was not said. The visit was surprising,” he said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (DH/LW)
