President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (03/21) visited Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie general hospital in West Kalimantan provincial capital of Pontianak.

“I visited Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie general hospital in Pontianak to inspect health services provided by the hospital to patients and communities,” the President told journalists after the visit.

According to the President, the hospital provides good services, adding that it serves 600 daily patients efficiently.

The President also said he had ordered Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to provide additional medical equipment, especially ICU and Cath Lab equipment for cardiac and stroke patients.

Wahyu, a patient with BPJS (Health Social Security Agency) insurance, applauded services provided at the hospital, including registration services and treatment.

Another patient, Heni, a Pontianak resident with diabetes mellitus, also shared her experience using the BPJS insurance.

“In my opinion, the BPJS services are good. The BPJS covers the medicines I need, including insulin. Some medicines are not covered by the BPJS, including particular medicines for cardiac disease, but other medicines are covered,” Heni said. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (RI/EP)
