President Jokowi Visits Shopping Center in Pekanbaru

During his working visit in Riau province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (01/04) took time to greet residents of Pekanbaru city at Living World Mall located on Soekarno-Hatta street, Pekanbaru city.

Arriving at 08.15 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, the President and his entourage walked into the mall to greet mall visitors on the ground floor and took selfies together.

On that occasion, the President and ministers also greeted the visitors on the first floor as they headed upstairs using the escalator.

When passing a local clothing store ‘Hammer’, the President and ministers stopped by and picked out a number of clothes on display racks.

In the store, President Jokowi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono bought maroon sweaters for Rp399,000 each, while Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir chose a blue and white jacket.

“We just bought a local clothing brand ‘Hammer’,” the President said.

An employee of the store expressed excitement because the President and ministers visited the store.

“I am so happy meeting the President in person,” he said.
