President Jokowi Visits Traditional Market in North Nias Regency
In the first agenda of North Sumatra Working Visit, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (07/06) visited Alasa market in North Nias regency, North Sumatera province. Upon his arrival at the market at 10.50 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), President Jokowi was greeted by students waving Indonesian flag and the enthusiastic local people.
On that occasion, the President distributed cash assistance to beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in order to provide additional capital for business.
During his visit at the market, President Jokowi also took his time to communicate with market vendors while inspecting prices of staple foods.
One of vendors, Dasimalahagu, was proud that the President has bought Bananas he sold that time.
Joining President Jokowi during his working visit were Minister of State Secretary, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of North Sumatera Edy Rahmayadi, and Regent of North Nias Amizaro Waruwu.
