President Jokowi Visits War-Damaged City in Ukraine

Starting his working visit in Ukraine, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (06/29) visited Lipky Apartment complex in Irpin City.

“I was accompanied by Mayor of Irpin (Oleksandr Markushyn) and his Deputy to see the destruction that happened in the city of Irpin due to the war and it is devastating to see houses and city infrastructures ruined,” the President said after the inspection.

President Jokowi also expressed hope that the war can stop immediately so no more cities in Ukraine will be destroyed by the war.

“I hope there will be no more cities ruined in Ukraine due to war,” the President remarked.

During the inspection President Jokowi were also accompanied by the First Lady Ibu Iriana, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P. Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GWH/LW)
