President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has pledged to follow-up recommendations given by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) as stated in the Auditing Result Summary (IHPS) and Auditing Result Report (LHP) of the First Semester of 2019.

“The BPK has reported many things. But we’re also glad that the number of institutions at the central government level that has received an unqualified opinion (WTP) has significantly increased. 32 provincial governments have also received the WTP,” the President told reporters after meeting with BPK chairperson and members at the Merdeka Palace, Thursday, (19/9).

Such improvements, the President said, are what the Government wants so that obedience to the laws and efficiency in State Budget and regional budgets use can be realized.  “I think we’re moving to that direction,” he said.

Previously in his introductory remarks before the meeting, President Jokowi also conveyed gratitude and appreciation to BPK chairperson and all members who have worked with the government in the past five years in realizing transparent and accountable governance and financial management.

“Today, we will receive the Auditing Result Summary (IHPS) and Auditing Result Report (LHP) of the First Semester of 2019. This is the last IHPS and LHP from the current BPK board for the period of 2014-2019,” the President added.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, BPK Chairperson Moermahadi Soerja Djanegara said there are four ministries and institutions whose financial reports still receive reasonable with exception (WDP) grade.

They are Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Ministry of Youth and Sports, the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), while an institution that received a Disclaimer grade is the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla).

“There are only two regional governments that receive WDP grade. The majority of regency and city governments have also improved (by receiving WTP),” he said.

According to Moermahadi, the current BPK board of executives for the period of 2014-2019 will end its term on 19 October this year.  Therefore, on that occasion, they met the President to also bid farewell. (FID/JAY/ES)
