President Jokowi Watches F1 Powerboat Race on Toba Lake

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo Sunday (02/26) headed to North Sumatra province to watch the first race series of the 2023 F1 Powerboat World Championship (F1H20).

The event was held at the area of Muliaraja Napitupulu Balige port in Toba lake in Toba regency, North Sumatra province.

Upon his arrival at the port at 13.30 Western Indonesia Time, President Jokowi met President of the F1 H20/Powerboat Nicola di San Germano before taking a seat at the main seating area.

Several performances including performance from Indonesian singer Lea Simanjuntak were showcased before the race. President Jokowi was seen to witness the preparation of the race and enjoy the race.

For the record, the F1H2O is an international single-seater motorboat racing competition for powerboats organized by the Union Internationale Motonautique and promoted by H2O Racing.

The championship was joined by 20 drivers in tem teams and consists of eight series of racing in a season. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/HD/EP)
