President Jokowi Watches Horse Racing in East Sumba
After visiting a sorghum factory in East Sumba regency, East Nusa Tenggara province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi Thursday (06/02) watched a horse racing exhibition in an impromptu visit.
Upon arrival at the Rihi Eti Prailiu race track, hundred of horses were seen ready to race. While watching the competition, the President and Ibu Iriana were accompanied by Regent of East Sumba, Khristofel Praing.
Ibu Iriana was also seen waving hand and inviting elementary school children to sit near her and the President. The children enthusiastically responded and rushed to sit near them.
Just as soon as the race started, the crowd’s screams filled the race track and after the first horse crossed the finish line, the jockey saluted the President and the President gave him a thumb up.
After the race, the President and Ibu Iriana left their seats to continue his working visit and short while observing famously local white horse along the way to their car. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/HD)
