President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo emphasized the importance of preparing for the Golden Indonesia 2045. It was mentioned by President Jokowi during the 52th anniversary of Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), at Grand Ballroom of Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (06/10).

In his remarks, President Jokowi mentioned three important points that should be considered and monitored by all members of HIPMI. First, demographic bonus. President said that Indonesia will reach the peak of demographic bonus in 2030 to 2040. Therefore, planning and preparing high-quality human resources should be conducted tactically to make the most of the demographic bonus in order to reach an advanced Indonesia.

Second, President Jokowi reminded the audience of technology disruption that is highly increasing, such as artificial intelligent (AI), generative AI, and singularity. “Beware of this. We should be fully aware, should observe the potential impacts, the situations that may occur in our country due to the currently advancing AI, generative AI, singularity. What these things are and what their impacts are to our country. We should carefully observe it, do not be confused to anticipate technology disruption.”

However, President Jokowi expressed belief that HIPMI members, as digital generation, are able to address the technology disruption. “So, I think HIPMI members has been aware of       addressing issues of AI, generative AI, singularity,” the President added.

Third, changes in geopolitical landscape and global economy due to technology disruption. President Jokowi stated that the changes will give impacts to many aspects in Indonesia, including attitudes, tastes, color trend, and culture. “All aspects, business landscape, economy landscape, all aspects will change. Usually, the young ones can adapt easily, and HIPMI has it all.”

The Head of State also highlighted the importance of green economy in the future. He mentioned that green funding is widely open globally, so the system change should be anticipated and used wisely by HIPMI. He also explained further that green food, blue food, and others will be the trend in the future, and that HIPMI should prepare the strategy to deal with the new opportunities.

President Jokowi also gave appreciation to the HIPMI members for the initiative to develop agro-maritime industry, such as Chickin Indonesia and Ardena Food. According to him, HIPMI with five decades experience in using opportunities may be able to grasp the changes in business and economy landscapes. “I believe that HIPMI is able to keep innovating to upgrade levels and win the global competitions, and to compete within our beloved country.” (FID/ABD)(AW/LW)
