President Jokowi Welcomes Indonesian Amputee Football Association, National Amputee Football Team

President Jokowi welcomes officials of the Indonesian Amputee Football Association, coach and players of National Amputee Football Team at the State Palace in Jakarta (09/21) (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/Kris).

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (09/21) welcomed officials of the Indonesian Amputee Football Association, and coach, players of the National Amputee Football Team.

On that occasion, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation to the achievement of the national team for finishing the East Asia Qualifier in its debut and heading to the 2022 Amputee Soccer World Cup in Turkey which will be held on October 1-9, 2022.

The Head of State expressed his hope that the National Amputee Football Team will succeed in performing at the World Cup.

“Once again, I have entrusted all of you to raise the name of the country, raise the name of Indonesia. Thus, you should have good preparation, training, and be discipline, so that your achievements will truly make all of the nation proud.” the President said.

President Jokowi further said that the Government through Ministry of Youth and Sports had prepared all the supporting needs and facilities for the national team.

In addition, the President also said that the Government had allocated Rp500 million for the national team to be used during the competition on upcoming October.

For the record, at the 2022 Amputee Soccer World Cup in Turkey, Indonesia will be in the same group along with England, Argentina, and the US. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/LW)
