President Jokowi Welcomes Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi at Bogor Palace
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo welcomed President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, on Tuesday (05/23) at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province.
President Raisi and the entourage arrived at Bogor Presidential Palace at around 10.40 Western Indonesian Time escorted by cavalry troops and the marching band of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
The arrival was then followed by an official welcoming ceremony, consisting of reverberating national anthems of both countries, the firing of cannon 22 times and an inspection of the ranks of honor.
On that occasion, they also introduced their respective delegation. President Jokowi was accompanied by, among others, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Vice Minister of Health Dante Saksono, Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Tri Handoko, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro.
Afterwards, the two leaders headed to Lotus Room for a group photo session and guest book signing. Then, they had a talk at the veranda, followed by tree planting at the backyard of the Palace.
On that occasion, President Jokowi and President Raisi also held a tête-à-tête consultation, a bilateral meeting, and a joint press statement. (RSF/UN) (RAS/HD)
