President Jokowi Welcomes Islamic Student Association at Merdeka Palace

President Joko Widodo Wednesday (11/08) hosted the Executive Board of the Islamic Student Association (PB HMI) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

“We hope the general elections next year can run smoothly and successfully and of course we are also committed to carrying out peaceful and substantive elections,” General Chairperson of PB HMI Raihan Ariatama said after the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the conditions and crimes against humanity that are currently occurring in Palestine and PB HMI also asked President Jokowi to monitor the situation and support Palestinian independence.

“The Indonesian Government must also provide humanitarian assistance as our commitment since Palestine is among the first country that supported our independence and of course we must respond well too,” Raihan remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/EP)
