President Jokowi Welcomes Malaysian King at Bogor Palace

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and First Lady Iriana on Tuesday (27/8) at Bogor Presidential Palace hosted Malaysian King the Yang Di Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and his wife Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah during his state visit to Indonesia.

The convoy of horsemen and troops wearing traditional clothing escorted the arrival of the Malaysian King and his entourage from the front yard of the Palace.

During the state ceremony, national anthems of both countries were performed by the member of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) marching band.

After welcoming ceremony and filling in the guest book, both leaders pose for a joint photo session and followed by a tete-a-tete.

The President and the King also planted a tree at Palace’s backyard and conducted a bilateral meeting between delegations of the two countries and concluded by a state luncheon.

Also attending the event were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno, Cabinet Secretariat Pramono Anung, Indonesian ambassador to Malaysia Rusdi Kirana. (HIM/OJI/ES)
