President Jokowi Welcomes Members of Indonesian Rectors Forum

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (11/07) welcomed members of the Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI) at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

During the meeting, the challenges faced in achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 was discussed, one of which is preparing qualified, advanced human resources.

Chairperson of the FRI Mohammad Nasih went on to say that President Jokowi called on rectors  to contribute in formulating the necessary elements to achieve the vision of the Golden Indonesia 2045 in a more technical manner so that it can serve as a foundation for the next Indonesian leaders.

 “So, the sustainability of development in Indonesia can be directed towards the same goal; advanced Indonesia 2045, Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said in his statement after meeting with the President.

In addition to the human resources, Mohammad Nasih said that roadmap for science and technology development also serves as pillar to enhance Indonesia to become an advanced country.

“An advanced country must have an advanced science and technology. Thus, this will also be part of the input that we will further detail in the near future. The roadmap aims to boost food security, health security, energy security, so that we will be a self-reliant, an independent, and an advanced nation,” he added.

Furthermore, Chairperson of the FRI continued that the President also requested the rectors to provide ideas for the next Indonesian leaders on what needs to be done in leading for the progress of Indonesia. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (AP/LW)
