President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (18/11) received commanders of the Navy and Air Force in two separate meetings at the State Palace, Jakarta.

“National consensus is the main subject discussed by President Jokowi during the meeting,” Presidential Spokesman Fadjroel Rahman said, adding that the President has called on the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Police to uphold national consensus.

The national consensus, Fadjroel continued, is state ideology Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the country’s motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika – Unity in Diversity, as well as the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and national flag of the Red and White.

According to Fadjroel, the President has also ordered the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to maintain national development agenda that become the Government’s priority.

“The agenda is to develop national human capital, to complete infrastructure development, to cut red tape, and to transform the economy,” Fadjroel added.

Fadjroel went on to say that both the Navy and the Air Force Commanders appreciated the President’s hard work in advancing the TNI. “Especially in the supply of weaponry for military, social and personnel needs,” Fadjroel concluded. (ANT/ES)
