President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi welcomed President of the Republic of the Philippines Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and First Lady Mrs. Louise Araneta–Marcos at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday (09/05).

President Marcos Jr., Mrs. Louise Araneta and the entourage arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace at around 10:00 Western Indonesia Time, accompanied by cavalry troops, troops in traditional attire, and the marching band of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).

Arriving at the front yard of the Bogor Presidential Palace, the Philippine President and the First Lady were greeted by President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana Jokowi. The welcoming ceremony was followed by reverberation of the Philippine national anthem Lupang Hinirang and the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, 21-gun salute, and an inspection of troops.

Afterward, the two leaders introduced their respective delegates.

The two leaders then headed to the Teratai Room for a photo session and guest book signing. After having a conversation on the veranda of the Bogor Presidential Palace, the two leaders planted an Ironwood tree in the backyard of the Palace.

The next agenda was a tête-à-tête meeting on the veranda of the Bogor Presidential Palace, followed by a bilateral meeting and a joint press conference.

For the record, before arriving at the Bogor Presidential Palace, the Philippine President and the entourage visited the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery. (TGH/UN) (RI/MUR)
