President Jokowi Welcomes Prime Minister of China at Bogor Presidential Palace
President Joko Jokowi Widodo received a state visit from the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Monday (7/5).
Prime Minister Li Keqiang and his entourage arrived at the Palace at 10:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time escorted by a marching band, cavalry, as well as personnel of Presidential Security Details (Paspampres) wearing traditional clothes. They were warmly welcomed by President Jokowi at the Palaces front yard.
The President and the Prime Minister also took part in a state ceremony. On this occasion, national anthems of both countries were reverberated, interspersed with thump of cannon. Then, both leaders inspected the presidential security guards and saluted flags of the two countries.
Furthermore, after signing a guestbook, taking a photo together and having a veranda talk, the President invited the Prime Minister to plant a camphor tree (dryobalanops lanceolata) at the Palaces backyard. The event then followed by a bilateral meeting, a joint press statement, and an official luncheon.
Also accompanied the President on the event were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita.(DNA/OJI/ES) (GWH/MMB/Naster)
