President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (11/07) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta received Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace Al-Mahfouz bin Abdullah bin Bayyah.

“This morning, Mr. President received Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace Dr. Mahfouz bin Abdullah bin Bayyah and Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Indonesia and the delegations,” Minister of State Secretary Pratikno said after the meeting.

Pratikno stated that the visit is to reaffirm the 2022 Imam Hasan bin Ali International Peace Prize that had been awarded to President Jokowi.

“As previously stated by Mr. Mahfouz, this is a very prestigious award since it honors the name of Imam Hasan bin Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad PBUH,” the Minister said, adding that the award also proves the role of President Jokowi as a leader who spreads messages and a culture of peace to the world.

Pratikno also stated that the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace also invited the Government to make contribution in resolving various crises that are currently plaguing the globe.

“Once again, Mr. President, certainly, expressed gratitude for the award and (expected it to) strengthen relations between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, and at the same time gives enthusiasm for all of us to make the G20 a success for global peace and prosperity,” he remarked.
