President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo received the visit of Committee of World Sufi Assembly, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (08/08). After the meeting, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto said that the meeting discusses the upcoming World Sufi Assembly.

“We have just had a meeting with the Committee of World Sufi Assembly led by Al Habib Muhamad Luthfi Ali bin Yahya and the associates participating. I feel honored to join the meeting due to the cooperation with Ministry of Defense since years ago that we follow up,” the Minister explained.

The Minister mentioned that World Sufi Assembly will be held in August 29 – 31, 2023, in Pekalongan city, Central Java. “From Egypt, Presidential Advisory Council of Egypt, from Palestine, Presidential Advisory Council of Palestine, sheikhs of Al-Azhar and, of course, Indonesian ulemas, and Indonesian rectors of universities, Islamic mass organizations, and heads of Islamic boarding schools, he further explained.

“Our President has instructed to coordinate with other ministries, especially Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs for a good organization of theworld assembly,” the Minister said.
