President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo wished a speedy recovery for former Indonesian First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, who is currently under an intensive medical treatment for blood cancer at the National University Hospital in Singapore.

“All of us pray that she will quickly recover and return to Indonesia,” President Jokowi told reporters at the State Palace, Wednesday (13/2).

According to President Jokowi, he had instructed the Presidential medical team to work with doctors in Singapore for Ibu Ani’s recovery. The President also has also called former Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to ask about his wife’s condition and conveyed his plan to visit her in Singapore.

Previously, SBY through a video recording on Wednesday (13/2) explained his wife’s condition. “Ibu Ani is diagnosed with blood cancer and is currently under a medical treatment in Singapore since 2 February this year. I ask for prayers from everyone that God will give her recovery so that she can continue her activities back home,” the he said. SBY also thanked President Jokowi, the Indonesian Government officials, and the Indonesian people for their support. (RSF/JAY/ES)
