President Jokowi Wishes Happy International Labor Day

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo wished a Happy International Labor Day 2023 which will be commemorated online on Monday (05/01).

In his remarks, the President invited all stakeholders to make the best of the Labor Day momentum.

“We must use this momentum to continue expanding opportunities for labor and workers, to improve the welfare of them, to protect their rights, and to increase national productivity and competitiveness,” said the President.

He also said that efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the country must continue, either through the development of vocational education or by increasing the skills of the labor.

“Efforts to upskill and reskill labor and workers continue to be carried out through pre-employment programs, as well as through Job Training Centers conducted by the Government, the community and industry,” said the President.

In addition, he also revealed that the Government continues to increase the amount of investment from both domestic and foreign industries. This was done by the Government to expand employment opportunities, reduce the unemployment rate, and improve the welfare of workers in the country.
