President Jokowi Wishes VP Ma’ruf Amin Happy Eid al-Fitr

After performing Eid prayer at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Surakarta, Central Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Saturday (04/22) had a video call with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and spouse Ibu Wury.

“We wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri to you and your wife. Let us forgive each other,” President Jokowi said.

“I also wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr. Let us forgive each other,” Vice President Ma’ruf said.

The Vice President also said he would soon be heading to his hometown.

“I am going to Banten this afternoon,” he said.

The President also said that he is slated to head to Labuan Bajo to check the preparation of the ASEAN Summit venue, while at noon, he is scheduled to host Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and son Didit Hediprasetyo.

Prabowo stated that he and President Jokowi had casual discussion during the lunch.

“I also reported that when the President was in Europe, I was also in Europe. I met several prominent figures there. I also reported the developments of our country’s defense and so on,” Prabowo said. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GWH/EP)
