President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will not host open house in the upcoming Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri.

The President added that Government officials are allowed to have a gathering with their families, friends, and neighbors during Eid.

“We have not held any iftar dinner or open house event for three years. [Government officials] are allowed to have a gathering with their families, their friends, and their neighbors,” the President said in his statement after inaugurating a millennial housing of Samesta Mahata Margonda, Depok city, West Java province on Thursday (04/13).

In the meantime, Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, said that this year’s Eid al-Fitr will be the first Eid held without the implementation of activity restrictions policy (PPKM) after three years of the pandemic.

“In line with the President’s statement during the interview at the millennial residence, the President said that all government officials are allowed to hold a gathering with their family, and the President will not hold any open house event,” Bey remarked.
