President Mobilized Joint Team, Praying for Safety of All Crews and Passengers of the Missing AirAsia Plane

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Joint Search in effort to find AirAsia Plane QZ8501 which is missing during its flight from Surabaya to Singapore on Sunday (28/12) is still ongoing. He said that after held a closed meeting with military and police officials.

“The joint team is between Ministry, Indonesian Army (TNI), Indonesian Police (POLRI), National SAR Agency (Basarnas), and The Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla)”, President Jokowi said to the press in Sorong, West Papua, on Sunday (28/12).

Previously, as arrived at Dominique Edward Osok airport in Sorong from Wamena, President Jokowi directly held closed meeting with Coordinating Minister of Politics Laws and Security (POLHUKAM) Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Army Commander General Moeldoko, Chief of Air Force Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia, Chief of Navy Admiral Marsetio, Chief of State Police General Sutarman, Cabinet Secretary Andi Wijayanto, and Head of State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Marciano Norman.

President Jokowi explains, the government has coordinating with Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and England regarding their citizens in the AirAsia Plane flight number QZ8501.

President Jokowi also prays for the safety of all crews and passengers of QZ8501, “hopefully the crews and all passengers of AirAsia QZ8501 are found safely”. The aircraft went missing after one hour take off from Surabaya, around 06:17 Am local time, carries 155 passengers.

President Jokowi accompanied by the First Lady Iriana Widodo visit Sorong of West Papua with one of the schedule is to survey a port located at the very east of Indonesia. (ES)(Ifp)
