President Prabowo Affirms Support for Railway Innovation, National Tourism

After inaugurating the revitalized Semarang Tawang Railway Station, President Prabowo Subianto continued his working visits to Batang regency, Central Java province, on Thursday (07/30). On this occasion, the Head of State chose to continue the journey aboard the newly-launched Nusantara Explorer Train.
The journey marked a special moment in the President’s working agenda. Beyond serving as an option for intercity transportation, the use of the Nusantara Explorer Train also reflected the Government’s support for the development of Indonesia’s railway industry and the promotion of the national tourism sector.
Prior to departure, the President expressed his intention to personally experience the newest train developed by state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).
“Today I will also try the new train launched by KAI called the Nusantara Explorer, to support and promote tourism,” the President stated in his remarks at the inauguration of the Semarang Tawang Station revitalization.
The Nusantara Explorer Train then carried the President and a limited entourage along Java Island’s northern coastal railway line to Batang regency. Throughout the journey, the President was greeted by views of rice fields, residential areas, and community activities along the tracks.
The use of the Nusantara Explorer Train also demonstrated the Government’s commitment to providing transportation services that not only enhance connectivity but also offer a comfortable travel experience capable of supporting the development of tourist destinations in various regions.
Upon arrival in Batang regency, the President was scheduled to attend the simultaneous signing ceremony for 62 thousand units of subsidized housing mortgages (KPR) and housing people’s business credit (KUR) facilities, valued at Rp880 billion, at the Puri Delta City Side Batang area. The program forms part of the Government’s efforts to expand access to decent housing while strengthening housing financing for low-income communities. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (YA/MMB)
