President Prabowo Subianto extended his deepest appreciation to the Forest Area Enforcement (PKH) Task Force for their dedication in safeguarding state finances and assets. The President delivered his remarks during the sixth phase of administrative fine handover, the recovery of state assets, and the reclamation of forest areas held at the Attorney General’s Office Compound, Jakarta, Friday (04/10).
“On behalf of the Government, the state, the nation, all the Indonesian people, and myself, I would like to express my gratitude to those working in the PKH Task Force. I express my deepest appreciation for your sacrifices,” said the President.
In his directive, the President emphasized the challenges encountered by the PKH Task Force, especially given Indonesia’s vast territory and the complexity of the problems that can arise at the field. According to the President, the members of the PKH Task Force have faced diverse challenges while carrying out their duties, including threats and intimidation.
“I understand that many members of the PKH Task Force have been threatened. Some even have been intimidated, and so on. Once again, I truly appreciate your work and sacrifices,” he said.
In addition, the President highlighted that safeguarding and preserving the nation’s wealth is an honorable and noble duty. However, the Head of State deplored some irresponsible individuals within the organization bureaucracy who abuse their authority for personal or group interests.
“We must admit that among us, within the bureaucracy, ministries, government agencies and our institutions, there are individuals who have been entrusted with duties given by the State, but they used their authority and power to make way for those who conduct misappropriations of funds,” he said.
To that end, President Prabowo called on all state officials to return to the fundamental principle of serving the people. He emphasized that working in government is a form of devotion and sacrifice, not merely administrative work.
“Let us stop these bad practices. Let’s stop deceiving the people, deceiving our superiors, backing bad practices, smuggling, illegal mining, and illegal plantations. I urge all of us who have been entrusted by the people to carry out well the duties that the people have given us,” said the President.
During the event, the President also emphasized the Government’s full commitment to protecting the PKH Task Force. He stated that any threats or attempts to hinder the task force’s work constitute resistance against the state.
“If anyone threatens a member of the PKH Task Force, they are threatening the President of the Republic of Indonesia. If anyone obstructs the work of the PKH Task Force, they are obstructing the work of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” the President asserted.
President Prabowo concluded his remarks by reaffirming that the state will not back down in safeguarding national wealth. The Government will stand at the forefront to ensure that every state asset is protected and utilized to the fullest for the people’s welfare. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (NST/AW)
