President Prabowo Arrives Home After Russia Trip

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta on Friday (09/04), after concluding a working visit to Russia.

Presidential aircraft carrying the President and his entourage landed in Jakarta at 03.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Commander of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Gen. Agus Subiyanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Listyo Sigit Prabowo welcomed the President when he stepped down from the aircraft.

During his visit to Russia, the President attended several agendas, including the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivistok as guest of honor, at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart. In that meeting, President Putin said that Indonesia is Russia’s most important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

In his speech at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), President Prabowo stated that Pacific region should not divide countries but should be consider as a strategic space to strengthen connectivity and open up new economic opportunities for Indonesia and Russia.

“The Pacific Ocean does not separate us. The Pacific Ocean connects us. It is not a wall between us. It should be a highway that connects our two economies,” he said, reflecting Indonesia’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with Russia on economic, trade, investment, and connectivity sectors.
