President Prabowo Arrives in Bengkayang Regency, W. Kalimantan Province for Corn Harvest

President Prabowo Subianto Thursday (06/05) arrived in Bengkayang regency, West Kalimantan province for a working visit. The Head of State and his entourage landed at Harry Hadisoemantri Air Force Base at around 10:00 local time. They initially arrived at Supadio Air Force Base in the province’s Kubu Raya regency and then took a helicopter trip to Bengkayang.

The President’s arrival was warmly welcomed by the Governor of West Kalimantan Ria Norsan, Commander of the 12th/Tanjungpura Military Region Maj. Gen. Jamallulael, Chief of West Kalimantan Regional Police Inspector Gen. Pipit Rismanto, and Harry Hadisoemantri Air Force Base Commander Lt. Col. Nav Wahyu Pratomo Pujo Wahono. The communities also crowded several places along the road to the venue that the President will visit.

Hundreds of students, farmers, and residents of Bengkayang seemed enthusiastic to welcome the arrival of the President, chanting his name while waving the Red-and-White flag. Meanwhile, the President waved his hand and greeted those who stood along the road.

President Prabowo also got out of the vehicle to greet the students and people. The President even carried a child who welcomed his visit.

In Bengkayang regency, the President is scheduled to participate in the second quarter’s corn harvest and officiate several strategic initiatives related to food logistics infrastructure and the first corn export to Kuching, Malaysia.
