President Prabowo Arrives in India to Attend 18th BRICS Summit as Full Member

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Air Force Station (AFS) Palam in New Delhi, India, on Friday (09/11) at 10:00 PM local time. The President is set to attend the 18th BRICS Summit on September 12–13, 2026.
Upon arrival at the airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by India’s Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim (CDAI/KUAI) of the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi Yudho Sasongko, Indonesian Defense Attaché to India Brigadier General (Mar) Burhanudin, Commander of AFS Palam Brigadier General Rishabh Mittal, and Additional Secretary (Southern Division) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Prashant Agrawal.
At the foot of the aircraft stairs, President Prabowo was also greeted with a guard of honor and a performance featuring traditional Indian culture and dance.
President Prabowo’s attendance at the 18th BRICS Summit as a full member marks Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen its active role in multilateral cooperation. This participation also reflects Indonesia’s commitment to fostering a more balanced and inclusive global economic order that provides greater opportunities for developing countries.
At the 18th BRICS Summit hosted by India, leaders of member nations will discuss a number of strategic agendas related to strengthening cooperation among developing countries. The meeting is also expected to encourage concrete measures to enhance collaboration in the fields of food, energy, development financing, and trade.
Earlier, President Prabowo along with his limited entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Friday afternoon at 5:00 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB). On the flight to New Delhi, the President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
