President Prabowo Subianto, on Friday (11/28), attended the 2025 National Teachers’ Day Commemoration Peak Ceremony, held at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta. The event, carrying a theme “Great Teachers, Strong Indonesia,” served as a moment to honor the role and dedication of educators in developing the nation’s future generations.

The event began with singing the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” continued with a prayer as an expression of gratitude and hope for the advancement of Indonesian education. A solemn atmosphere was felt from the beginning of the event, which was attended by approximately nine thousand teachers from various regions throughout Indonesia.

Afterwards, the Head of State watched a Balinese song and dance performance by talented Indonesian teachers and students, as well as a video screening sharing the teachers’ messages and hopes for improving the quality of national education. The screening was accompanied by the playing of a song “Terima Kasih Guruku” (Thank You, My Teacher), bringing the emotional atmosphere as a form of appreciation to all educators.

On this occasion, President Prabowo also presented the 2025 Indonesian Teachers’ Award to several outstanding teachers from various provinces. This award serves as a recognition for the dedication, innovation, and exemplary behavior of educators.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized the Government’s commitment to improving the welfare and quality of teachers, as well as educational facilities. He stated that teachers are the main pillars in developing a superior generation that will lead Indonesia to become a developed nation.

“We have to ensure that such a large budget should reach its intended target, namely teachers, students, schools, buildings, and books. (The budget) is for everything needed for the best quality education,” said the President.

In his report, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti outlined the Government’s progress and priority agenda for improving teachers’ quality. He also said that teachers and education personnel are at the forefront of developing the nation’s next generation.

“To improve teachers’ welfare, the Government has implemented various programs as delivered directly by Mr. President in 2024. Thank God, Mr. President, we have seriously implemented such programs,” said Abdul Mu’ti.

For the record, the 2025 National Teachers’ Day commemoration serves as a platform for appreciation for teachers and educational personnel who remain committed to improving the quality of learning. The strategic role of teachers aligns with one of the Asta Cita (eight aspirations) of the Red and White Cabinet to strengthen human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports achievements, gender equality, as well as empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
