President Prabowo Attends State Welcoming Ceremony in China
President Prabowo Subianto made his first state visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC), on Saturday (11/09).
Upon his arrival, the President of the PRC Xi Jinping officially greeted him through a state welcoming ceremony at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing.
President Prabowo arrived at the Great Hall of the People at around 16:30 local time. The President walked to the North Hall, where the state ceremony was held, accompanied by guards of honor along the red carpet.
At the North Hall, President Xi warmly welcomed President Prabowo. They shook hands as a sign of the close friendship between Indonesia and China. The moment was followed by a group photo session, held in a friendly atmosphere.
Following the group photo session, both leaders introduced delegates from their respective countries to each other. This act represented their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors.
Afterward, President Prabowo and President Xi made their way to the podium of honor. The two leaders listened to their respective national anthems solemnly, “Indonesia Raya” and “March of the Volunteers” (Yìyǒngjūn jìnxíngqǔ 义勇军进行曲).
The two leaders then inspected the guards of honor, stationed at the Great Hall of the People. They walked side by side, showing a high commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China.
Numerous Chinese children were also seen welcoming both leaders while carrying flowers and Indonesia and PRC flags. They enthusiastically greeted the leaders during the inspection. Subsequently, President Prabowo and President Xi headed to the bilateral meeting room for official talks. The meeting is expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and China across various sectors, benefiting both countries.
