President Prabowo Commences State Visit to Brasilia, Continuing Strategic Diplomacy with Brazil

After attending the 2025 BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, President Prabowo Subianto Monday (07/07) headed to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, to pay a state visit to the Brazilian President.

Upon arrival at Brasilia Airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by Brazilian high-ranking officials including Secretary of Asia and the Pacific, Ambassador Susan Kleebank, Ambassador of Brazil to Indonesia George Prata, and Chief of Airbase Colonel Nicolas. In addition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Brazil Eddy Yusup and Defense Attaché Colonel Infantry Rizal Ashwan also welcomed the President.

Afterwards, President Prabowo was welcomed by the guard of honor, marking the commencement of his state visit to Brasilia.

During the visit, the President is slated to attend an official state welcoming ceremony from the Brazilian Government and meet with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Brazil’s Presidential Palace. The meeting will serve as an important milestone for Indonesia to enhance strategic partnership with Brazil as well as to expand and explore cooperation potentials between both countries in various sectors.

This state visit also reflects a strong commitment of diplomatic mission during President Prabowo’s administration to strengthening Indonesia’s global partnership, particularly with countries in the Latin American region that have great potential in South-South cooperation.
