President Prabowo: Decent Housing Shall Be Supported by ASRI Environment

President Prabowo chaired a limited Cabinet Meeting with several ministers at Hambalang, Bogor regency, West Java province, on Tuesday (09/01). At the meeting, they discussed the Government’s concrete measures to improve the quality of public housing and its surroundings.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his written statement, explained that the Government continues to provide more decent and affordable housing for the people. This effort includes a policy to ease housing finance, so that more people have homes.

In addition, the Government expressed concern about the quality of the residential environment. Through the Indonesia ASRI campaign—Indonesia that is safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful—the improvement effort would be conducted holistically, so that the people can live in decent housing and in a healthy environment.

According to Teddy, the home renovation program has completed 400 thousand houses since 2025. The program has continued to improve environmental quality, including clean water, bathing and toilet facilities, waste management, and environmental aesthetics.

The Government viewed the improvement in the quality of public housing as not merely about physical structure. Their surroundings became an important aspect in improving the quality of life.

“This is because a decent house is not only about physical structure. It shall be in a clean, healthy, safe, and aesthetic residential area,” he continued.
