President Prabowo Subianto, Saturday (4/18), delivered directives at the Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (KPPD) for Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Speakers across Indonesia at the Military Academy Complex, Magelang city, Central Java province. The event carried the theme “Strengthening the Role of Provincial/Regency/City DPRD Leaders to Support the Asta Cita (President Prabowo-Vice President Gibran’s strategic vision) in Welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045.”

The event began with the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” which was solemnly followed by all participants. Then, the Governor of the Indonesian National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily delivered a report on the implementation and objectives of the 2026 KPPD.

“The KPPD has lasted for five days, Mr. President, from April 15 to 19, 2026, at the Military Academy, Tidar Valley in Magelang city where national leaders are trained. The event is attended by 503 DPRD Speakers,” he said.

Afterward, a video documenting the KPPD activities was shown, depicting the learning process, leadership development, and interactions between participants during the program.

In his introductory remarks, President Prabowo said that he is present at the event by considering the strategic role of the DPRD Speaker. This also gives the President an opportunity to convey his views directly to regional legislative leaders.

“Learning that all DPRD Speakers across Indonesia were present here, I think it is important and appropriate for me to attend in person,” he said.

He did not only speak as a Head of State but also as a fellow citizen. He highlighted the diverse backgrounds of the participants, such as their regions, ethnicities, educational backgrounds, and political parties, as a power unifying in the spirit of nationalism.

“As a citizen of the nation, today I want to speak heart to heart, I want to speak frankly,” he said.

“As a citizen of the nation and as a patriot, I come here and meet with you, all my brothers and sisters, with one belief that all of us in this tent are patriots,” he added.

Through this forum, the President emphasized that Indonesia’s strength is not solely determined by the central Government, but rather rests on solid leadership with integrity, focusing on the interests of the people throughout Indonesian regions. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/AW)
