President Prabowo Departs for Jombang to Open 35th NU Conference

President Prabowo Subianto departed for Jombang regency in East Java province on Thursday (8/27) to attend and open the 35th conference of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)—the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia.

“Today, Mr. President is departing for East Java to attend and officially open the 35th conference of Nahdlatul Ulama in Jombang,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

President Prabowo, with a limited delegation, was scheduled to land at Juanda International Airport in East Java province, this afternoon.

Cabinet Secretary explained that President Prabowo’s presence marks a form of respect for NU’s significant role as one of the key strengths in Indonesia’s journey over more than a century.

“NU holds a long history in the independence struggle, maintaining unity and multi-religious peace, and improving education and wealth of the community,” he said.

Also joining the President in the Presidential Aircraft to East Java were Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/AW)
