President Prabowo emphasized that education is one of the fundamental pillars of national progress. In his remarks during the inauguration of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Campus of Pertahanan University (Universitas Pertahanan/Unhan) at Pertahanan University complex in Bogor, West Java province, he stated that the success of a country is largely determined by the strength of its educational institutions.

“I believe that educational institutions are factors that determine whether we succeed or fail as a nation. Everything begins with education,” said the President on Wednesday (06/11).

The Head of State also underscored the Government’s commitment to the education sector through budget allocation. According to the President, the education sector currently receives the largest allocation of the State Budget.

“If I’m not mistaken, it’s the highest in the history of the Republic of Indonesia. The law mandates that we allocate 20 percent for education. I believe our current allocation is even higher,” he added.

President Prabowo expressed his hope that Unhan would not only produce leaders in the defense sector. He also encouraged Unhan and all educational institutions to produce leaders in other strategic sectors of the nation.

“We hope that Unhan and all educational institutions will serve and contribute to the country in every field. Especially in today’s era, we must master science and technology,” he said.

Addressing the cadets, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of courage in facing challenges and honesty in acknowledging shortcomings. He called for a new culture, one rooted in integrity, resilience, and patriotism of the nation’s future leaders.

“Create a new culture, one that upholds the values of true patriotism. Don’t be afraid to admit weaknesses or shortcomings. Face difficulties, face challenges, face obstacles. Do not be daunted,” he stated.

Concluding his remarks, the President encouraged all members of the Unhan academic community to take care of and preserve the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Campus. “We are proud. What matters most is to care for and maintain this campus properly. Create a convenient and conducive atmosphere,” he said. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat) (AS/MMB)
