President Prabowo Emphasizes ASEAN-GCC to Stand in Solidarity with Palestine

President Prabowo Subianto delivered his remarks on the conflict in Palestine at the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia, on Tuesday (05/27). In his remarks, President Prabowo firmly called for solidarity of ASEAN and the Gulf countries regarding the humanitarian conflict that takes place in Palestine.
“Humanitarian tragedy experienced by the people of Palestine is a tragedy, a grief, and a crime against humanity. This should unite us to take a more effective common stance,” President Prabowo firmly stated.
The Head of State also stated that Indonesia is ready to play an active role in supporting the people of Palestine, including in humanitarian missions. President Prabowo also emphatically stated that Indonesia will always stand for the people of Palestine.
“In many opportunities, I have conveyed that we are ready to deploy our peacekeeping mission troops in a significant number if it is possible, and of course, with the agreement of GCC countries,” President Prabowo said.
Furthermore, the President also mentioned that Indonesia is prepared to provide medical aid. “We also accept Palestinian patients who need medical care, and we will provide health care in our hospital,” he said.
In his remarks, President Prabowo mentioned that he has visited some GCC countries to coordinate collective measures in response to the tragedy in Palestine. He emphasized that ASEAN and GCC bear moral responsibility to encourage a peace resolution in Palestine.
“Indonesia calls on a stronger support from ASEAN and GCC for a peace resolution and reconstruction in Palestine based on a two-state solution with Al-Quds as the capital of the independent Palestine,” he remarked. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat) (AW/MUR)
