President Prabowo Engages in Warm Dialogue with Beneficiaries of Subsidized Housing Program
The mass signing of 62,000 subsidized Housing Loan Agreements (KPR) and Housing People’s Business Credit (KUR) at Puri Delta City Side, Batang regency, Central Java province, on Thursday (7/30), was not merely an inauguration ceremony but a moment for President Prabowo to greet and have a dialogue with the program’s beneficiaries across Indonesia through a video conference.
From Banda Aceh to Tomohon to Tual, the President listened to their life stories about owning their first homes under Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) Sejahtera Mortgage. The heartfelt dialogue showed that homeownership can become a symbol of new hope for many families in Indonesia.
One of the beneficiaries who shared a testimony was Tsara (23), a small-grocery seller from Banda Aceh, Aceh province. Despite being single, she had successfully purchased her first home through the program with a 15-year mortgage and a monthly instalment of Rp1,284,000.
“Thank you, Mr. President. Because of you, because of FLPP’s Sejahtera Mortgage, I can finally own my dream home for my family. I wish you continued blessings and good health. Thank you very much,” she expressed.
The dialogue continued with Terry, a journalist from Tomohon, North Sulawesi province. The President asked him about the condition of the house where he is living.
“How is the house condition?” asked the President.
“Very good, sir. The water supply is reliable, the building is sturdy, and the neighborhood is safe, particularly at night, when the lights are adequate,” answered Terry.
When he was asked about the instalment, Terry explained that he chose a 20-year mortgage. To him, the home fulfilled a long-held dream after 14 years of marriage.
“I also want to thank Mr. President. Through your program, I can finally own my dream home after 14 years of marriage. Thank you very much for the program. May you always be granted blessings, health, and patience to lead the country. Thank you, sir,” he continued.
The warm dialogue then continued with Ririn, a primary school teacher in Tual, Maluku province. In addition to homeownership with her husband, the President asked about the Government’s priority programs in her school, such as the Free Nutritious Meal program (MBG) and Interactive Flat Panel (IFP).
“Alhamdulillah, [the school] has received [them], Mr. President. On behalf of the school, I would like to thank you. The program is very helpful. The students are very enthusiastic,” she explained.
Concluding the conversation, President Prabowo also offered his best wishes to Ririn, the new homeowner.
“Thank you, I wish you much happiness in your new home,” said the President.
The conversation between the President and beneficiaries was one of the warmest moments in the mass signing of 62,000 subsidized housing mortgages. The stories of a young entrepreneur in Aceh, a journalist in North Sulawesi, and a teacher in Maluku reflected the same hope—homeownership to a better future.
