President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (01/09) discussed the progress of the ongoing development of 100 fisher villages and the distribution of boat assistance with Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani in Hambalang, Bogor regency, West Java province.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a written release that the two ministers met with President Prabowo to report on the progress of several government programs aimed at coastal communities.

“Both of them met the President to report on the progress of developing the first 100 fisher villages as well as the distribution of boat assistance for fishers,” he said.

During the meeting, the development of fisher villages became one of the Government’s focuses in efforts to improve the welfare of coastal communities. The development of these fishing areas is expected to support community activities while creating a more livable and productive environment.

In addition to the fisher villages initiative, President Prabowo also received a report regarding the distribution of boat assistance. This support forms part of the Government’s effort to strengthen fishers’ capacity in carrying out their maritime activities.

“This support is expected to help increase productivity and welfare for fishers across various regions,” the Cabinet Secretary stated.

The Government, he said, also continues to encourage cross-ministerial synergy in implementing various programs for coastal communities. Such collaboration is critical to ensure that both the fisher villages initiative and the provision of facilities for fishers operate in an integrated manner and provide direct benefits to the beneficiaries. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/LW)
