President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace, Moscow, on Wednesday (12/10). In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the Russian government amid President Putin’s busy state agenda.
“Thank you for welcoming me. I am grateful that President Putin has made time for me despite his busy schedule,” President Prabowo said in his remarks.
President Prabowo added that in recent months, several government and business delegations from Russia had visited Jakarta. President Prabowo also explained that the Indonesian Government had facilitated meetings between national industrial entities and their Russian counterparts to accelerate the follow-ups of strategic cooperation efforts.
“I have already brought them together and connected them with our industrial entities and companies, and many positive developments seem to have resulted,” he said.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also extended an official invitation to President Putin to conduct a state visit to Indonesia. “I would also like to invite Your Excellency to visit Indonesia at your convenience. Either in 2026 or 2027, it will be fine. We hope that you will also visit Indonesia. Don’t just go to India,” said President Prabowo, greeted by light laughter in the room.
In response to the invitation, President Putin gave a positive response. “Thank you, I will come,” said President Putin.
This bilateral meeting reaffirms the commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation in various fields. The Indonesian Government hopes that this step will further solidify the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Russia in the future. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/TM)
