President Prabowo Extends Greetings for 2026 National Santri Day

President Prabowo Subianto, Thursday (10/22), extended his greetings for the 2026 National Santri Day to honor the major role played by santris (Islamic boarding school students) and Islamic boarding schools in fighting for Indonesia’s independence.

“I would like to use this opportunity to say, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, happy National Santri Day on October 22, 2026,” he said in his remarks at the National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) held at Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) in Kemayoran sub-district, Jakarta.

According to the President, santris and Islamic boarding schools hold an important position in national history.

“Both male and female santris as well as Islamic boarding schools have become an important part of Indonesia’s history and struggle for independence,” he said.

The President also underscored the importance of santris’ solidarity, power, and contribution to building a stronger, more advanced Indonesia.
