President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the Government would not abandon the people facing disasters. He delivered this statement in his New Year’s Eve address to the people of Batu Hula village, Batang Toru district, South Tapanuli regency, North Sumatra province, on Wednesday (12/31).

In his remarks, the President expressed his gratitude to God for the health and strength given amid many challenges. The Head of State also invited the entire community to remain steadfast, sincere, and maintain the spirit of togetherness.

“We are facing difficulties, facing disasters, facing challenges. But we must keep our heads up, be sincere and strong; our spirits should be strong; and most importantly, we must work together and face these difficulties together. Put your trust on your Government, your leaders, and your President that they will never abandon you. We are in this together,” said the President.

He told the residents in South Tapanuli regency that his presence at the year’s end demonstrated the Government’s commitment to always being with the people, especially those affected by disasters.

“I have assigned all ministers to spread out, inspect, observe, and examine the progress in all affected areas,” he said.

The President said that Indonesia is a large and prosperous country. However, the Head of State asked all citizens to remain vigilant against natural challenges.

“We must respect nature; we must protect it; we must care for it; and we must not destroy it. However, we must be vigilant because nature often presents challenges and trials for us all,” he added.

President Prabowo’s remarks on the New Year’s Eve strengthened the spirit of the residents of Batu Hula village. Amid the post-disaster recovery situation, the message of the nation’s presence and the spirit of mutual cooperation provided new hope to look forward to 2026.
