President Prabowo Subianto served as a speaker at the ADF Talks session during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025, held at the Nest Convention Center, Antalya, Friday (04/11). In this session, the Head of State shared his views on the current global geopolitical landscape, which he described as increasingly deviating from the principles of justice and rules-based order.

Despite these concerning developments, the President emphasized that diplomacy remains the best path forward and must be relentlessly pursued.

“We must not give up on diplomacy,” the President declared before the forum’s participants.

Quoting the ancient Greek philosopher and historian Thucydides, the President underscored the bitter reality that power often dictates truth in today’s international relations. “The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must,” he stated.

According to President Prabowo, the world is witnessing a regression of the values established by Western powers in the aftermath of World War II—values such as democracy and human rights. These principles, once embraced by many developing nations, are now met with silence in the face of blatant violations.

“We believe in democracy. We believe in human rights. We believe in a rules-based order. But now, all of a sudden, we are witnessing—right before our eyes, as President Erdoğan has pointed out—innocent children, innocent women, and unarmed men being massacred in full view of the entire world,” he remarked.

While reiterating the importance of diplomacy, President Prabowo also acknowledged that the current global reality compels nations to enhance their preparedness. The Head of State observed that today’s uncertainty on the global stage will inevitably affect many aspects, including poverty and hunger.

“If you ask me, I would say we must pursue the path of diplomacy. But right now, I believe many countries are reassessing their positions and preparing for the worst,” the President concluded. (BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat) (AY/TM)
