President Prabowo Subianto called a number of Red and White Cabinet Ministers and Heads of State Institutions for an impromptu meeting at his residence in Hambalang village, Bogor residence, West Java province. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his written statement mentioned that the meeting was held on Tuesday evening (08/19).

“During the closed meeting that lasted for more than four hours, President Prabowo requested updates on developments in the implementation of measures to control forest areas and eradicate illegal mining,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy also affirmed that the discussion in Hambalang village was in line with President Prabowo’s statement in the State of the Nation Address, emphasizing his commitment to taking action against anyone who violates the law, regardless of their status or economic power.

“During my tenure as President of the Republic of Indonesia, we must not assume that those who are powerful and rich can do as they please.” The President said in the State of the Nation Address.

The ministers who attended the meeting were, among others, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.

In addition to the ministers, the meeting was also attended by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto.
