President Prabowo Holds Meeting with Religious Figures, Political Parties, Labor Union Leaders
In a bid to affirm his commitment to fostering the nation’s unity and to listening to people’s aspirations, President Prabowo Subianto, Monday (09/01), held a forum for amicable gathering (silaturahmi) with religious figures, chairpersons of political parties, leaders of labor unions, and interfaith youth organizations at the State Palace, Jakarta.
On that occasion, President Prabowo listened to views and aspirations of religious figures on the latest global and national issues. He also paid close attention to the opinions from chairpersons of political parties, leaders of labor unions and interfaith youth organizations.
The discussion served as a platform for the President to directly hear the voices of the people, regardless of their backgrounds. It also showcased the leadership of President Prabowo’s administration which upholds the values of unity, openness to dialogue and public participation.
By listening to the aspirations of the people from various backgrounds, the President aimed at ensuring that each policy of the Government is shaped by the real needs of the Indonesian people. In the near future, it is expected that such gatherings will be held regularly as a means to strengthen communication and unity among the people.
To close the gathering, prayers were offered by each of the religious leaders according to their respective faiths. This moment served as a powerful symbol, reflecting the unifying strength in preserving the nation’s integrity, regardless of the differences in beliefs.
Joining the event were, among others, Rais ‘Aam (supreme leader) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), K.H. Miftachul Akhyar; the Chairperson of PBNU, K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf; the Head of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah for Economic Affairs, Business, and the Halal Industry, Muhadjir Effendy; the Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), K.H. Anwar Iskandar; the Chairperson of the Indonesian Communion of Churches (PGI), Reverend Jacklevyn Frits Manuputty; and the Chairperson of the Bishops’ Conference of Indonesia (KWI), Mgr. Antonius Subianto Bunjamin. Also in attendance were the Chairperson of the Executive Board of Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia/ the Indonesian Hindu Religious Council (PHDI), Wisnu Bawa Tenaya; the Chairperson of the Indonesian Buddhist Community Association (PERMABUDHI), Philip K.
