President Prabowo Subianto Friday (05/15) officially inaugurated the initial production of the Forel and Terubuk Oil Fields located in the Natuna Islands, Riau Islands province. The inauguration was conducted in a hybrid format from the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
“This development will produce a total of around 20,000 barrels of oil per day, along with an additional 60 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. This increase in production will further enhance our national energy resilience,” Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung said in his press statement.
On that occasion, Yuliot highlighted that this project is the product of Indonesia’s national investment.
“The implementation of this project is entirely carried out by Indonesian talent. Nearly all components used in this project are sourced locally,” he explained.
He further stated that the total investment for the development of the two fields reached nearly Rp10 trillion and this commitment is expected to strengthen national energy security.
“With this investment of nearly Rp10 trillion by Medco, we are optimistic that the development of these facilities will significantly bolster our national energy security from now on,” he remarked. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information (BPMI) of Presidential Secretariat) (RIF/TM)
