President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, delivered his greetings and inspiring message to all young Indonesians in commemoration of the 97th Youth Pledge Day in 2025. The Head of State called on the nation’s youth to embody the spirit of unity inherited from the country’s forefathers since the historic Youth Pledge of 1928.
“Those who were young at that time, no older than 22, 23, or 24 years old, wanted only one thing: an independent, united, sovereign, and dignified Indonesia. Now, it is our duty to continue their struggle through knowledge, honesty, discipline, and hard work. We must make the most of our independence and lead Indonesia to become an advanced, modern, and prosperous nation,” President Prabowo stated in a video broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Tuesday (10/28).
The Head of State emphasized that the nation’s struggle for progress is far from over. President Prabowo stated that many Indonesians continue to live modestly and work hard for their families and the country. In response, the government remains committed to taking concrete action to ensure that all citizens can live decent and prosperous lives.
“This struggle is not yet over. Many of our brothers and sisters still face hardship — our farmers in the fields, our fishermen at sea, our factory workers, and young people working hard for their families. We must ensure that all Indonesians can live decently and prosper, so they can take pride in being part of this great nation. Our country is rich; what matters now is that we are wise in preserving and managing our wealth,” the President said.
In addition, President Prabowo reaffirmed that Indonesia’s strength and future lie in the hands of its youth. The Head of State called on young Indonesians to demonstrate their love for the nation not merely through words, but through concrete actions.
“As long as there are young Indonesians who are honest, courageous, and loyal to their nation and people, Indonesia will never be defeated,” the President affirmed.
President Prabowo urged the younger generation not to fear dreaming big and to nurture the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation in building a strong, just, and respected nation.
“Therefore, I say to the youth: do not be afraid to dream big, do not be afraid to fail. Great nations are built by young people who are brave, who love their country, and who are willing to sacrifice for their people. Let us ignite the spirit of unity, solidarity, and the drive to give our best for the nation,” President Prabowo emphasized. (BPMI SETPRES) (AP/LW)
